The Sun Prairie Police Department says officers were called to the Old National Bank on W. Main Street just before noon. The Wisconsin Assembly has passed a bill allowing low-spending school districts in Wisconsin to raise property taxes without a vote.

Sun Prairie police investigate man found dead near church

Authorities are investigating the death of a man found outside a church in Sun Prairie Sunday morning. Sun Prairie police say someone reported finding the 22-year-old man dead outside around 7:30 a.m. He was near Sun Prairie United Methodist Church.


The assisted living facility where an 84-year-old woman was found dead in December has submitted a corrective plan of action to the state, which has determined that the plan is acceptable. Burglar smashes window of restaurant with owner working inside, police say

A smash-and-grab burglar was arrested Wednesday night after a foot chase through the Williamson Street area, Madison police said. Reginald D. Funches, 44, of Sun Prairie, threw a rock through a glass door at Bandung Indonesian Restaurant at 600 Williamson St. around 11:20 p.m., according to a release.
